Sinigang is sour and has a savory flavor. It suits us very well in cold weather and it assembles our family at home. The story, entitled “Sinigang,” was written by Maria Audrey J. Villaceran. It is an intriguing story, more than the typical sinigang we know. The story was about Liza, the main character, who faces her father’s mistress, named Sylvia, at the funeral of Lem, her half brother, who died of cancer. Tita Loleng and Liza prepared the ingredients for sinigang for their family dinner, and it was her father’s favorite food. During the preparation, her Tita Loleng asked her about meeting Sylvia, and she remembered how anxious she was to meet her dad’s mistress. On top of that, she remembered how her father cried and asked for forgiveness.
Moral Values

The moral values that I got from the story are that we should forgive and forget their mistakes. Even though it’s hard to forgive, especially if someone makes a mistake against us that affects our entire life, the thing that will make us peaceful is that we need to forgive and forget the mistakes of those people who hurt us. As a 21st century learner, the impact for me is that life has many temptations that you can’t resist, but you should always think about your loved ones first. The struggles and emotions of those people that you got hurt because of your temptation. Without happy endings, sometimes you feel that you are in the darkness without the light of that path in your life, but if you try to forgive and forget, you will achieve a peaceful mind. The best ways are to move on, be happy, be positive in life, and continue to live with your loved ones and family.
